Is it important to have someone to talk to? The answer is yes. Based on a new study that was released on August 16, 2021, having someone to talk to can be very beneficial to the aging of your brain. You might be thinking how did they come to this conclusion and how can this help me.


Having a healthier more active brain can help prevent Alzheimer’s making it so you are able to keep your independents.

The benefits of having someone to take to

We think about how to keep our brains healthy when we get older but it is actually never too early to start. Having someone to listen to you might seem like an easy thing to do but it can make all the difference in helping your brain age slower. It also has the potential to help you not to develop Alzheimer’s later down the road. You want to keep your independents as you get older and this one process has the potential to help you in keeping your independents as you get older. We can stay active and fit but sometimes we still need help as we get older to move around. That help is out there, we can get a stairlift to keep us mobile and moving but our cognitive health is what’s going to keep you sharp and doing the activities that bring you joy and that you love. Sitting down and enjoying a conversation with someone you feel like you can express yourself to can slow the progression of aging. Who doesn’t want to feel younger for longer? As the study said they showed a 4-year difference for those that didn’t have someone to express themselves to. Those 4 years are precious and can make all the difference later on.

What the study was about

The study consisted of 2,171 adults, age range of 45 and older. They tested the cognitive functions of the brain, this part of the brain is responsible for learning, problem-solving, thinking, decision making, the ability to remember and pay attention. It showed that people that did not have someone in their lives that they could tell things to cognitive function was that of someone that is 4 years older than their actual age.

Keeping a healthy brain is as important and eating and sleeping. You want to keep doing everything you love and you should never have to stop. Take the time out and just sit and connect with your loved ones. Listen to what they have to say and let them listen to you it can change your whole world in the long run. Never too late or too early to forces on your health. The small things add up and make great health later on even if you don’t see it yet.
